Discuss The tories policies are working in the Electricians Chat - Off Topic Chat area at ElectriciansForums.net

My whole point is to draw attention to the lies that the tories are telling and the fact that people are still swallowing the bullshine.
The tories are not good for the economy, the general population of the country, the public sector workers, the essential services etc etc.
They claim that the economy is safe in their hands yet have missed their own borrowing targets by ridiculous amounts. Any company's finance director would be out on his ear if he presided over that.
Teresa May banged on about new powers she desperately needs to combat extremism yet the law already allows her to ban organisations (al muhajiroun, muslims against crusades, sharia for the UK all are examples) the law exists to combat what is laughingly called hate speech so why does she need more powers? Why not just use the ones she has at her disposal but no, let's just sleepwalk into a police state. It must be bloody terrible living in the Scandanavian countries who don't have an expensive, white elephant nuclear deterrent. Imagine living with that constant threat of terrorist attack?

The tories always trot out the line that Labour borrow recklessly, labour bankrupt the economy, only we tories can be trusted to handle the economy properly.
Well, between 2004 and 2008 Labour borrowed £148.8 Billion, in 2008/9 (the year of the banking crisis which caused the global (oops sorry Labour's fault) recession) they borrowed £97.5 Billion.
Since being elected in 2010 the coalition has borrowed £600 Billion, this has raised the national debt from £0.62 Trillion to £1.26 Trillion today but Labour bankrupted our children's future eh?
Listening to the tories this week has been like living in the twilight zone, but we still see people defending the pack of *******s "Labour's mess, Labour destroyed the economy, Labour are always spending other people's money" and the old favourite which must be due about now "There's no magic money tree"
Well by the standards that they said they'd be happy to be judged on the coalition has been an unmitigated disaster. The deficit that they promised to eliminate within one parliament is now 3 times larger than it was when they took office. There are more people unemployed than when they took office but these figures are masked by the ones they have forced into slave labour, or have sanctioned, or have been pushed into meaningless training. There are more people homeless than when they took office but no one cares about that because homeless people don't get to vote or claim benefits so they don't count.
In the 7th largest economy in the world people are forced to use foodbanks just to survive. Before anyone says anything about that you cannot just bowl up at one and get a free bag of groceries any time you want. Yet we can still find the money for a good old bombing run.
Not many tory supporters seem to mind any of that stuff though. It astonishes me that none of you can see that.
It makes me want to vomit.

Ill respond not from any political gender but the figures above are missing vital info...

-Labour's proposed spending over the same period was calculated to be greater according to their own policies and commitments.
-Conservative figures have a crucial factor that hasn't been accounted for - the 10 - billion a month interest on the debt that is included in that figure (for propaganda measures i assume).
-What is not mentioned is the last goverment left the biggest debt in peacetime history and the main reason we see the the large spending spree is to try dampen down the recession that they or any other government would have had to deal with.

Any spending and debt levels are heavily influenced by a previous government when their is a change of party for the first 3 -4 yrs as was the same when Blair entered the scene after Major, and as the present government entered when labour had left nothing in the pot, a massive debt and raided pension pots and gold reserves their is really only one way to point the finger here.

Articles that bring this comparison of Osbornes spending in comparison to Labours whole term are deliberatetly leaving crucial financial data out and have a heavy biased political agenda - I don't suppose you know the author of your source material; I have a incline they are left wing.

EDIT ... nearly forgot Chancellor Darling balanced the sheets of RBS-Nat West and LLOYDS / HALIFAX - BANK OF SCOTLAND which immediately added 300billion to the debt, a point not refered to at all.

The finger is really at labours door IMHO as they had a heavy influence of the cause of the banking crisis due to their lack of oversight or failure to implement any regulation even after Brown rescued an American bank with our gold for the exact same reasons of an unregulated banking system... I struggle to see why people believe these articles without researching first, misleading is an under-estimate.

A lot of that is my own feelings Darkwood, it'll come as no surprise to you that I am indeed a socialist.
The figures quoted are all in the public domain mate, a lot of them have been pulled from the Office for National Statistics, some have even come from right wing organisations.

"-Conservative figures have a crucial factor that hasn't been accounted for - the 10 - billion a month interest on the debt that is included in that figure (for propaganda measures i assume)." Are you saying that that amount of money has not been considered in the sums or that Osborne is misrepresenting the facts? Either way it is yet more evidence that Osborne is unfit for purpose.

I also dispute that the last administration left the largest debt in peacetime history. If it was true then it has surely been outdone by the current one.

The UK economy is not safe in ANY Politicians hands, of any colour, be that Blue, Red, Green, Yellow

Does that not make you angry though?

Not really, I'm a realist.

Voting for a different party ain't going to change much, they all make promises they can't keep, they all make U turns, make "pledges" not promises.

I could go on but won't.

The reality is that the "main" parties are so similar, its difficult to see any difference between them....

It all depends on your source and if you know what your looking for - check my edit - the 300billion that was not really something that should be reflected in the Labour/ Conservative comparison but it was, if you break down the spending that you use to critisize the government you quickly find big chunks of it are not really admissible for this comparison + big chunks of relevent info is missing regarding the Labours figures.

Cameron is fighting for his life, half his party are ready to jump ship to the UKIP party and he will say anything to survive, whether he delivers is a different matter, since the early 20th century the Tories give nothing away and labour then has to modernise a britain which is collapsing, then the tories get in saying too much money has been spent and they stop all spending again. Then Labour spends again to stop poverty and to modernise britain, then the tories cut all spending again, a circle which will never end.

Forget all that and think about this, we are the 8th richest country out of 190 odd on the planet, yet 300,000 of our people use food banks and the millionaires get huge tax cuts, we have the worse cancer survival rate in the west and the least Doctors and nurses yet our private hospitals amoungst the best in the world. We have a police force which is not held to account when people are shot in the street yet imprison people for minor crimes and let hard criminals go free for no proper reasoning. The whole of our legal system stinks as do our general manufacturing policies, what manufacturing? exactly, nothing is left, and we have sold everything off cheaply to millionaire companies who then lay off staff and sell whats left at a heafty profit, the post office now only pick up mail and do delivers until 3 in the afternoon, the railways are a shambles yet we are going to build another line we do not need, regardless of what party you support they are all ----ers, the poor are getting poorer, the rich richer and the pound in our pocket worth 2 quids worth of monopoly money, to finish racism is thriving and no-one wants to admit it, come to live in Great Britain lmao.

I've corrected that for you.

Clueless, nieve, hopeless & weak - and that's before we look at his politics!
You could easily say that about Milliband, Cameron AND Clegg. I doubt any of them will be in office after their current tenure is over. In fact the Tories have already lined up that lovable idiot that is Boris Johnston....a buffoon of the highest order...who behind the bumbling front is as cunning as a fox and his visions are in the same mould as Thatcher.....Im sure that will please some of you Tory boys though.

No matter who takes the keys to Number 10 next year the knives are out for the rest of them. Nick Clegg must realise he is on borrowed time as must all the other senior Lib Dems, their complicity in the tory plans has damned them to a long time in the political wilderness and their membership will hold them responsible.
Cameron and Milliband will take the blame from their parties if they lose and will be consigned to the back benches for a very long time.
There's no loyalty when it comes to politics

Heaven help us all if he wants to become PM.
