Never installed one, been asked to, any recommendations in the way off a good product and ease of install. One from screwed fixed, or toolup Station.

Cheers

Honestly, it makes little difference.
pick any and it will work fine.

is the wiring to the stat. in place or will it be new? some stats only need T/E but some need 3 core/E.

We all assume this is a room stat for central heating….
Could be a tank stat, frost stat or something industrial that requires a little more than a feed and a switch wire

But looks like assumptions were correct.

you can get a wired room thermostat for very little money these days…
Wireless a little more.

For a room stat I quite like the Salus RT500 (or it's wireless version).
Was a bit sceptical at first, but once I'd figured out how they work - nice unit. Rather than the on/off and fixed temperature you get from a stat/timer combination - you get to set a temperature profile during the day. Five points/day, each setting the temperature until the next point.
