Been asked to look at an underfloor heating system which isn't working the best. It's only installed on the ground floor of the property, and has four zones. Is there any rule of thumb with regards the location of the stats - location and heights?

Parts of the zones are open plan as well, current stat location is from from ideal, 1200 to top but in the hall area to the living room area there is at most 2M between the stats!

If its open plan with different zones then the stats could be clashing with each other. You could connect the two zones together via only one stat to see if that makes the difference. Pointless having two zones in a open pan.
height wise is normally 1500mm
