Hi everyone,

I’m about to build some cupboards, (tomorrow!) but need to ensure that a suitable cable is left behind them and threaded through the adjacent wall for a socket that I want fitted in the future - on the other side of that wall. (Work is happening in many stages). I’m not attempting to do the electrical work, just want to make sure the right cable is there for when the wiring gets done.

from the reading i’ve done I’m pretty sure the best solution is taking a spur from the ring main using a junction box as no other sockets are nearby.

luckily the fuse board is about 80cm from where the back of the cupboards will be The wall against where the cupboard and circuit bird is is will eventually be concealed. There will be space to run the cable behind / through back of cupboards.

so...do I just need a single 3 core cable (flat twin 25amp?) with plenty of slack either end to make sure the job can be done ? Any conduit needed for behind the cupboard ? If I have to run the cable INSIDE the back of the cupboard I assume I’ll need conduit for that.

many thanks for your help !
Dominic
