that's a matrix screen, controlled from an office somewhere remote. like those on the motorways.

The signage in your photo will be professional stuff which will probably not be available readily to the public, and will be very expensive.

What's the application you need it for? Would a multi colour scrolling LED message board be suitable? If so then these are available to suit any budget, right down to cheap units on ebay, etc.

I know this might be stating the bleedin obvious, but.... things in a museum are usually very old, so it's unlikely that you could still purchase them.
The ticker tape itself is not an antique, just a feature of the exhibition to provide information.
The differentiating factor of this compared to standard matrix LED's is that they appear to be using incandescent bulbs.

Anyone knows where to buy such a thing would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Thanks DPG. It's for a retail shop business and would be one of the main focal points. So would be willing to spend money on the production/installation.

I reckon it will be warm white LEDs rather than lamps.

If it's for a shop, there's a few challenges to be met, mostly ones of control. I can put you in touch with a company who make all kinds of things like this, good friends of mine who'll give you advice and not try to rip you off. But as has been said already, LED message boards are ten a penny online.

Incandescent! Driven originally by brushwire matrix's just like fairgrounds had.
