I've searched the usual places, but can I find straight forward live 1.5mm core cable? Nope! I need this to avoid having to strip perfectly good cables just to get the live one one for some small installation work I am doing.

Any ideas please?

Maybe I'm describing it incorrectly. I'm wiring in 230v - this is a temperature controller that I am wiring up inside an IP rated enclosure. Where my mains power comes in, I split the cable - one goes to feed one circuit and the other to one other circuit. Neither is 'on' at the same time. My need is for just that little bit extra cable to allow me to create a junction, using a three-way waco (I think that's the jobbie) to do so. Maybe this is not switching gear, but that's the closest I can describe it to you. Sorry for any confusion.

I'm more than happy with the cable I received. Question: why do the strands in this cable appear to be of a thicker gauge/size than that found in the cables in some 3183Y 1.5mm rubber sheathed?

I'm finding it impossible to insert the latter into a three way Wago.

Cable for fixed wiring is rough stranded, presumably the same as the singles you got.
Flex (3183Y) is flexible cable and comes with fine stranded copper wire to allow flexibility of the cable.

Wago connectors of the push in type are not designed to take flexible cable, only rough stranded or solid.
To connect fine stranded cable you must use the lever connectors.

Yes, I bought from Line yesterday - but didn't get the lever type Wago. Luckily I got through to the guy on the phone this morning and cancelled the push-in type and re-ordered the lever type.

Just as well I did, as I have just bought 100m of 3183Y and didn't fancy not being able to use it.

Oddly enough, however, I have been able to push in with no problem the wires from another reel of 3183Y. I found the problem yesterday with the wires being foo fine to push in when I went to use a part-used reel of rubber sheathed 3183Y - the sheath on the conductors is rubber too, and hence quite flexible - too flexible to push in.

Looks like I'm sorted now, however.

I also sponsor another forum (a home brew forum), so know how important it is to use the sponsors here.
