Am I the only one who would use NYY for this?!?!?

SWA? Galv conduit? Far too much fiddling around for a run of cable 8m high IMHO!

20m is no fun trust me Damian.

Is this NYY cable solid cores or is it like flex? I've googled it but can't really tell. I take it theres kind of earthed outer screen? And finally can it be terminated in a stuffing gland or are there specific glands?

Solid cores, use normal stuffing glands. Like SWA without the armouring part.

I got a quote before for cherry pickers and i'm sure it was approx £500 a day.

Solid core up to and including 2.5mm. No earthed outer screen. Insulated and sheathed with reinforced PVC. UV proof. Stuffing gland termination.

Yes, I'd go with that. UV resistant, and no need for heavy mechanical protection if 8m off the ground.

I use NYY pretty much exclusively for outdoor wiring unless there is a specific reason I need to use SWA. We're currently rewiring three outdoor gantry cranes at a local steelworks and except for the festoon cables for the crabs we're using NYY throughout with the odd bit of YY thrown in for good measure.

Is it any good for clipping to a fence to power me shed?
