I've seen that with two pairs of meter tails on a main switch before but never on the incoming side of an RCD :-O

I just struggle to understand why anyone would do such an irresponsible thing.

They did the 'bang test' and all was good so what could be wrong?!
Not happy looking at that - I'm getting some good standards in my training which pleases me, I even get a bit picky with the other mates I work alongside - well I don't want them to be producing sloppy work do I ?

Effectively by having the cover off with that RCD still live you are breaching EAW Tegulations.

Breaching EAW would be the least of my worries! Switch off, carry out your safe isolation at the bottom of the main switch - all good; touch the lhs busbar, bang (and possibly dead).

A new step in the safe isolation procedure - check for sneaky supply that bypasses the isolator ...

Worse that the RCD not being on the load side of the isolator is the unprotected circuit leaving the CU on the brown and blue also in the top of the RCD.

I have seen a similar house where the tails came from a main isolator (from a 100A fuse) in 10mm² to the first board, the second board was tapped off the incoming terminals of the first board and the third board was tapped off the incoming terminals of the second boards RCD!¬

Ps, it's a 100mA RCCB, yes that's 2 rings in one protective device, yes a 2.5 radial is doubled up in a protective device with a ring, and if anyone knows what type of 3871s they are then that would be fantastic as they were not written on.

Edit, Oh and the 6mm brown is feeding a shower!

Another MK (Sentry?) board. Any chance they were built like this....surely not?
