Best of luck with your part p assessment the guys are normally helpful and want you as client rather than not so be confident and sure you will pass

Done mine 4 years ago and it was a breeze mind you did have 8 new builds to show him

If the napit guy didnt carry out the work he shouldnt be certing it.......how are you going to prove you carried out the work if someone else has certed it?

If he's full scope and he supervised the work....without laying his hands on a drill or cable he can sign the work off. This happens everyday in virtually every company. Trainees do the practical boss's sign off work. For that reason Part P is not worth the paper its written on.

As for the question I am not sure. You would have to prove that it was only overlooked by the QS....

Thanks alot, going to spend a couple of quid, get a proving unit, aload of lock outs, warning signs etc and just over emphasise saftey! Probs my downfall when testing rushing round to get the testing done, fingers crossed not long from now!

After speaking to my mate who is a napit member he has just told me one of his houses needs rewiring before the new tenants move in september, he said he is quite busy in work so I offered to rewire it for £500 plus materials......this I think will be a great way of not getting the BCO in, I rewire it, I fill out the cert, the assessor kicks off that the BCO have not inspected it, I inform him the owner of the property is a spark who is registered with napit who allow third party testing so mo matter what this house will be signed off!

Thats a good idea. When you spend your money why not spend it with one of the forum sponsers?

Usually takes me a week to ten days, the house is about ten minute drive from where I live, and in tge circumstances the "£500" is just a token gesture......I have rewired house recently for a mate for a few bottles of tuborg, I like electrical work and it's not about the money with me!

I am sure money doesn't matter to you at this point and you only need some hands on experience.

In Essex, they charge a minimun of £2500 for a 3 bedroom rewire including standard matrials and 7 or 8 days labour.

Yer that's what we charge in Liverpool that includes my partner who is a plasterer to follow me round making good, and joinery work to I.e boxing in etc, we usually just go for it, long days quick breaks, have it done in 5 days

Will niceic fail you if your two examples to be assessed have been third party tested by a napit member?

I think it is highly unlikely that anyone gets failed by these scam providers, if you have all the necessary documentation and stuff in place. It's your annual fee and all the other fee's involved that there really after !!! I reckon you'd have to be pretty dammed bad to fail....lol!!!

Were quite lucky in doing general maintenance on student housing so we only do bits so finished for 2/3 each day so any work like this is done in the evenings!

tuborg ??

You could bash the 3 bed semi's in 4 days if all the furniture was out the way....Thats the major problem with inhabiteD rewires.
