Hi, does anybody use a screw with a woodscrew type thread for screwing up faceplates, into the wodden type of back boxes in a very old house, or where lugs are broken ect.

I know with some accessories they come with standard 3.5 screws, and a screw with a normal wood screw type thread, but is similar profile to the 3.5 screw

Does anybody know where I would purchase such a screw.

Cheers

Wood screws were used for wooden back boxes.
i have never used wood screws for standard metal or plastic back boxes.
why do you need wood screws ?

Do a search on ebay for Back box repair clips.. Remember they are plastic so you if its for a socket you will need to create a fly lead to earth the back box if you dont have a fixed lug left.

(Sorry ignore this didnt see it was wood backbox.)
