Bootlace Ferrule crimper

Looking for a new Bootlace Ferrule Crimper

Any recommendations? (saw a CK set at £35 but if I can get a decent set cheaper...all the better...)

These look pretty decent and I've only been able to compare by sight. Haven't had the occasion to need them yet but these will be the ones I get. I love crimping and I love riveting - is it just me?

I don't mind crimping either,

I saw them, but reckon the company shill bids on their auctions, put a bid in on an as yet unbid auction and suddenly 2 minutes later (at 11pm none the less) I'm outbid and the auction is "private"....hmm smells fishy to me..

Let them buy there own gear back then, more fool them! The CK ones aren't bootlaces though are they? Boot lace is like those things with a made up name that stops the end of your lace fraying - first with the name wins a prize!

You're talking about aglets from the French aguille (needle).

Any pair of bootlace crimpers would be fine, bootlace ferrules generally go under screw or clamp terminals and get squashed by the terminal so unlike in-line ferrules there's little need for accuracy of crimping.

I used these recently for red bootlace ferrules to terminate in a gas boiler. Very easy to use and give a neat result.

That is not the right tool for the style of crimp, it is always best to use the correct tool (although I am guilty of this sort of thing myself!).

OK, sorry I stand corrected.. Probably the correct one would be the DV DCER510 for £19.95 then? They look fairly decent and it is these type I think I have in hindsight..

red are 1mm ferrules btw and there not bootlace ferrule crimpers

yes there ferrule crimpers but non ratchet ones are better, you can feel when they have crimped properly

I've just given you a thanks, because by chance when I looked on eBay a few minutes ago, I managed to win one of these that was ending in 3 mins, at just £1.24. Hopefully it will turn up, and not be lost in the post!

I was debating a smiley, but, I believed that those who know, knew!

It was a deliberate comment designed to generate this.

I am bilingual when it comes to bootlaces, where I learned about such things was in a manufacturing environment with a LARGE German influence and VERY LITTLE French influence, there were a lot of Blue Ovals around IYKWIM.
Then I actually worked for a German control systems company...

However, now I've been on my "own" for over 10 years (with a little bit before) and my local "industrial" wholesaler stocks Froggie colours, I've had to become bi-lingual!
