Hi,

I'm after an electrician in East London to replace my late '80s domestic Helvar system with and updated version.

Can anyone recommend someone please?

Regards

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for taking time to register here. :)

Post a thread in this forum, select Electrician from the drop down list. Put 'Looking for an electrician in East London to update Helvar system' as the title for the thread, and then perhaps explain a bit more in the actual thread. Maybe details of your existing system, and what you're looking to update it with. That kinda jazz.

Let electricians contact you via the forum messaging system for contact details. Don't put those in the thread. You'll just get dodgy agencies trying to send you weirdos. :)

One day we'll have some electricians in the directory for you here: Greater London Electricians | Rated Electricians in Greater London - https://www.electriciansforums.net/resources/categories/greater-london-electricians-rated-electricians-in-greater-london.50/

But it's about a month old. And there isn't a single one lol (I've linked to that for people who find this thread in the future, and any sparks who want to add their details to it)

That's a shame to hear. :(

There must be a specialist somewhere on the forum that's local. Surely. Just by pure numbers the chances are in your favour we have bloody loads of 'em on here.

I'll keep tabs on this thread. And the request for work one.

If anybody wants to find the link to the work thread its here: Electrician - Looking for an electrician in East London to update Helvar system - https://www.electriciansforums.net/threads/looking-for-an-electrician-in-east-london-to-update-helvar-system.178900/

Perhaps it would help if you mentioned what a helvar system is?

If you visit the Helvar website, it mentioned they work with "partners" who presumably source, install and maintain these lighting systems. So I suspect your average electrician will never have heard of it (I hadn't) or even know was it is (I didn't), and you'll need to find one of these partners. I'd hope the company would want to help put you in touch with one (they have lots of UK contacts).

Thanks. Yes, you’d think so. They pointed me to 2 wholesalers whom I called and they didn’t know what I was talking about. So far I’ve found someone who will visit us from London but it’s expensive to do it that way and a slog for them and me if anything else needs doing.
