I struggle to do my own but just about get away with it- Finding decent help though is hard

If you dont mind me asking how much do you spend a month and what price per click do you find works.

I presume you are getting work from it.

I want to get an idea if I am able to afford it or not, and I havent a clue where to start

I'm forever tinkering with it, changing keywords, changing ad's so very difficult to quantify ROI on it but anywhere between £750-£1000 a month

Get help if you can it's an absolute minefield

I will do thanks. I have a friend who is a bit of a computer geek I think I will email him right now.

Ad words and in particular those ranking firms is a mine field. Do your research loads of articles on improving your listing online try that first and it's take time for google to reindex. I personally wouldn't use those rank improvement firms as ours is no 1 locally and I did it myself, I ask them how did you find me if I wasn't ranked !!! O

I got done by an adwords firm for a about 8 months last year- paid £180 a month for 5 keywords- Didn't realise I could do it myself at the time- the keywords I chose done diddly squat, you have to learn yourself I'm afraid

just got made redundant last week from a solar firm, surely he domestic side will be done in July.

the g59 stuff seems to be holding up as well as solar thermal

gonna hold my breath for the RHI with the air source heat pumps etc next summer.

Just had our first enquiry for 2 months! Last installation was in January, going to let the licenses expire in September - we have not been advertising much though - concentrating on our main business which is thankfully still busy.

we have a web company nextdoor in the offices and we had the ad words, it does get you there but you need a pot of money so we got to page 2 and things went quiet so had to put on hold and probably now down again to page 80 (not good)

Renewable energy is for those who support the cause, not the profit margin. Where are all the domestic wind turbines???

Being green doesn't mean you don't make a profit ! I'd love to live in a utopic tree hugging world but that doesn't pay my mortgage. Without profit the money can not be invested to develop more efficient panels techniques etc etc etc ....rent a roof is wrong, having Pv as an green investment !!

I'd get a smaller mortgage if you're banking on paying it with PV profits. It's a modern gold rush and massively over-inflated. They should come down in price in 10 years or so. I'm happy to wait. :D

tell you what, lets all wait til the fossil fuels run out then get in a flap, or, shall we start investing now?

True that! Fossil fuels are gonna be gone before we know it. I'm sure government will be there to support us all....

but those who support the cause can't make enough difference by themselves to make much of a dint in UK greenhouse gas emissions, it has to go mainstream to do that.

Where are all the domestic wind turbines???
chocolate teapots on most roofs, and far harder to accurately predict the output.

I think you're missing the point - I've worked hard for a lot of years for my cash. I chose to save instead of do other thing with my cash and now I can get very little for my savings. I get a fantastic ROI from solar much better than if I put the money in the bank and I have rental properties and as each Fit cut comes through and the prices adapt solar STILL makes sense even when I'm not getting the benefit of the free electric.

Solar is neither modern or a gold rush. It's a good environmental investment for those who chose not to fritter their cash away. We all benefit and only one of my customers has been a true green customer, ebery other one has done it for investment purposes. You only need to read FB's posts to see, from an informed customer's perspective, what a great deal solar is.

Many regular contributors on the forum have been in the solar industry for quite a while, personally I've been involved in this "modern gold rush" for almost 20 years and finally - I haven't a mortgage, my profits last year cleared it :-)
