Best drill for around 150 ??

yea I am still leaning towards the 458 I found a cheaper price that includes the case for 164 next day Delivered ,Im just gonna wait to see what Drill the sparky is gonna bring in on Monday to show me.before I buy .but thanks for all the replies !!

You're gonna need to clarify that statement! lol

I've never had problems with my 451s and I have three. Also, put the 451 on to speed 1 and match it against the 458s speed one, I think you'll find the 451 has a hundred times more torque. Supposedly, the only reason the 451 was replaced was because of complaints about the 451 snapping wrists it was so powerful! lol That is why I love it!

Nope, not all the 451 drills have the problem.

the gears wouldn't engage properly and the chuck slips as well.

I like my 451 and its good.

the 458 is actually more powerful, I was roflol when a mate of mine hit himself in the face when he borrowed my drill

More powerful at higher speeds yes, but it only has two speeds, medium and fast. The 451 has slow! And that is wrist breaker speed!

A ferrari is more powerful than a truck, but which one are you going to tug an aeroplane with!? Lol

Do you guys know that you just slightly press trigger then its as slow if not slower!!!

Makes no odds really. Only 8nm difference

The slower gear means more torque at that speed. Like trying to do a hill start in fifth instead of first.

When do you really need loads of torque in a drill anyway?

If you need a lot of torque its either corded or impact driver

Well decided after a quick Google of similar priced drills to just go ahead & buy the 458 as I liked the specs & for getting a full kit for 164 quid compared to the 200 quid that Shops are charging I can't complain

& will add another Battery as soon as I can

where did you get it? i got a lot of my makita kit from fastfix.co.uk
