Hi,
I want to add a 32a induction hob and 13a oven to my cooker circuit. I was going to make the current single outlet dual and then upgrade the MCB from 32a to 45a.
See photos of current setup.
Does this sound doable?
Thanks
Phil
Hi
I can’t get hold of my electrician so was hoping for some help, a cooker hood is going on the wall but there is only a back box with wiring for the kitchen ring that will sit within the hood housing. Does this not require a 3A FCU and or isolator? The wall has been plastered and I didn’t...
Hello guys,
It’s my first post here so please be gentle :)
I’m having a kitchen extension done and will have the hob and few powerpoints installed on the kitchen island meaning the wires will need to run under the floor.
The floor is concrete subfloor and will have 80mm PIR insulation...
Hi, I am looking into starting an appliance supply business. I want to provide an installation service. Please advise what qualifications and testing would be required in order to do simple like for like oven replacements into existing circuits? I would only be replacing like for like, matching...
I'm interested what people's gut reaction solution would be.
Kitchen design and customer said freestanding cooker. So I first fix 10mm, and boxes for cooker switch with socket, and cooker connection plate.
No one thought to tell me it became hob (elsewhere, that bit isn't a problem), and a...
Hi all.
Just finished a domestic EICR where I found the cooker isolator to be smack bang in the middle of the actual cooker position.
The oven had a glass lid which, when lowered, automatically isolated the supply to the hobs.
I have noted it down as C3 due to the existing cooker lid covering...
Good afternoon
I hope everyone is keeping well.
I have purchased a stainless steel recirculation cooker hood which has the double insulated symbol (a box within a box) and the wiring cable is only L and N, no plug attached. I understand this would mean it has to be hard wired but I wonder, as...
So i install white goods for a living and have come across an issue when installing some Electric cookers,
Sometimes when i open the Cooker Spur Box the Cable clamp is missing, i was wondering if there is a universal "plate" or cable clamp that i can buy any where, If i open the Spur and the...
Hi all, I'm new on here....
I have an existing 32A cooker circuit with a wall switch with 13A plug hole. The manufacturer says the new oven is hardwired and is 16A.
Can I just replace the breaker in the consumer unit with a 16A one and use the existing wiring?
Current breaker is a Proteus...
I will shortly be having a range cooker installed that requires 2 x 13 amp supplies. Maximum power required is stated as 3 kW and 2.85 kW respectively. I have a redundant cooker supply on its own circuit, probably 30 amp. I would like to convert this to provide the power for the new cooker. Can...
Hello, I wonder if anyone could help.
We purchased an electric cooker to replace our gas cooker however no cable came with the purchase.
I’ve looked online and it seems I need to buy a 6mm T&E Cable to install it from the cooker block to the wall plate. We have the classic big red switch...
Dear Electrical Experts.
Hokay, I know the question sounds stoopid - but here's the thing. I've not had an electric kettle for awhile because they kept blowing the mains circuits - the last 2 went rabid, if you turned them on the mains instantly turned off.
I live in a one-room flat...
I am changing my oven to a gas only oven and wanted to know if it was sufficient to put a blank plate on the original socket as it is will be close to the oven. Any help much appreciated.
i am replacing my cooker extractor motor, the old unit has red, white, grey, blue wires,, the new has red, white brown, black, please help, both are 3 speed,, is there a set order for numbers 1, 2 and 3 speeds, in regards to the wire colour.

The photo shows a cooker hob ignition switch unit from a Neff/Bosch hob. One of the switches has failed. The issue was caused I think by ingress of liquid. I have dried the unit as well as I can. A replacement unit costs over £40. Has anyone ever opened one of these to repair it? I am reluctant...
Hi, hoping someone can help me, have a Lamona HJA5110 range cooker, previously had a new element fitted on the RHS oven and it was overheating, so had a new thermostat fitted, still overheating, so never used it. So recently fitted new elements to both sides (LHS and RHS) with a new thermostat...
Hi all, got a new range cooker I’m connecting which comes with a 10mm flex connected. The outside diameter I nearly 20mm and won’t fit into the existing cooker outlet plate. Does anyone know of a supplier which allows for larger diameter cables?
Failing that I’ll have to connect into an...
