    Really strange RCD happenings

Sorry this is a long one! I have been carrying out testing and Inspecting for about 10 years now, but haven't come across what I found at my Mum and Dads house. I rewired it about 12 months ago. It is an old stone house and was a nightmare to do.(It's a TT system fed off overheads and a split...

    PIR problem

A block of flats has a set of outdoor security lights each switched on by a separate PIR sensor switch. The lights are 500w incandescent and the PIRs rated at 1000w or more. Different makes of PIR have been tried but after a few months they mostly fail by remaining turned on. Any thoughts on...

    Anyone tried these?

Saw the following on Sfix's site, Not 100% sold on them, but look like a timesaver and look professional and neat not to mention keeping plaster out of boxes....Though I'm sure a plasterer out there would still manage it somehow.... 2 Gang Back Box Protector Pack of 50 | Screwfix.com

Doing pricing - how do you do it?

I do quite a lot of wotk with kitchen and bathroom fitters, all of which are good guys who appreciate the input from a compentent, reliable spark. Most of the bathroom work is reasonably similar and I tend to price each job fairly accurately but I've wondering whether to reduce admin time I...

Anyone tried to repair / replace cells in Bosch 10.8 L-ion?

Got one that's not very happy - claims to be full when it isn't - and a quick look suggests the pack will pop open and can probably replace whatever the cells are straight off the RS shelf. Anyone tried this before? [have posted this here and not tools as it's equally an electrics issue!]

Threading conduit with WD40 instead of Tallow

Anybody else tried using WD40 when threading conduit? its also good for cleaning the threads as well after you have filed the end with a round file (or used your pliers) and cleans away metal dust better than an old rag....also less messy than Tallow :innocent:

Anyone Tried a 2391 Online Course?

Anyone tried the 2391 online? I'm going to do the 2391 and am looking at prices. Obviously the online courses are cheaper - usually by about £100. I've been looking at the 'blender' courses offered by the NICEIC. I think i would rather go through the course with other REAL PEOPLE, to be able to...

Who tried it first........I have often wondered.

Have you ever wondered who tried something first, especially something that turned out to be dangerous. Who first ate Pufferfish and found out that it killed you if it wasn't cooked in a certain way. Who discovered that if a Cobra bites you, you die. Who ate all the Mushrooms first to find out...
