Okay, took over a role from a guy who quit on bad terms, before he did he changed all the codes on the panels we service and we cant reset. Im aware of the crypt key you can generate and speak to advanced tech support to reset, however its a long road as this company doesnt buy direct from advanced and they are reluctant to offer help.
I dont suppose any experts know of a way round even a hardware reset/jumper on the PCB??

I think you'll have to prove your credentials before you'll get any information like that on an open forum!!!
Ask the Moderators for access to the private Alarms forum on here.

he should have a word with tazz. he's a mod. and also the best person to ask. if anyone knows, it'll be tazz.

There are no jumpers or resets on the pcb, the default code is 7654 for level 3....if the sod has changed it, you can use the download mx software, to change all passwords, then upload again.
only other way is to enter 7654 press 0 and contact Advanced for temp code, this will give you the chance to change codes.

However if he has really locked it down, you won't be able to take a download unless you can get into level 3 to put it into PC mode.

Advanced are reluctant to give out the back door code to people unless they are a registered company to stop people who don't know what they are doing messing with them. This is also the reason codes shouldn't really be posted about the net ready for anyone to see!

Advanced is an open system, so not an issue here, as its all over the net.
Never been asked for a code on download software, but you maybe right, that panel may request it

Thats true. Im always a bit apprehensive with codes even on open systems but thats because I've seen first hand the damage that can be done to life when people who don't know what they are doing mess about with these things...in this case, was a resident in some flats who didn't like having a smoke detector outside his flat and wanted to smoke in the hallway...

as it turned out advanced wouldnt help, managed to work out his code, obtained software at last through adi. thanks for the replies, ill look into getting into the fire forum
