advice please, passed 2330 lvl 2 3 years back, know f all, advance forward or what?

Hi all, What shall I do people. I passed level 2 2330 C&G NVQ 3 years back, however I forgot most of the course, I know alot of the course is health and safety which is easy and ohms law etc, its just that I forgot continuity test, earth loop impedance test and various other tests (bits coming back to me now that im thinking about it).

A couple of day back I went back to enrol as there f all jobs and want learn a trade. Lecturer advised me to continue with level 3 2330 before 2365 comes into play next year which would take 2 years. I personally wanted to retake level 2 2330 but he adviced me to forget that, he said level 2's rubber stamped, you can recap level 2 while studying level 3.

what should i do people???????? advice please.

Guidance Note 3 Inspecting & Testing is a good start for re-learning all the tests etc.
Make sure you get the latest copy, to go with the 17th Edition BS7671:2011, Big Green Book.

i got red iee 17th edition book, on site guide and another small handbook which i cannot remember the name of, are they of no use any longer?

2330 level 3 focuses alot on the testing side of things as far as i remember. there are loads of books out there that go over the 2330 course info, im sure if you had a quick look threw you would start remembering it all.

level 2 i guess was mainly health and safety and basic calculations. what does level 2 consist of???????

just remembered was is ze zs, impedance or something????????

as i remember there were 6 sections 201.202.203.204.205.206
201 was easy health and safety exam
202-203 i think i remember being on electrical principles
204 was i think testing on a florescent fitting for me explaing what a choke and starter do etc.
205 cant remember completly but i think on electrical principles again
206 was a practical assighnment like 1 ring+1radial+1 light circuit to be completed and tested

yh completed lvl 2 c&g and nvq all in one year at derby college.

i guess i will go for it, 1 day a week, £1700 course + £155 exam. f expensive

biggest worry, without onsite experience with electrician i wont learn much.

Try and find an electrician who will let you tag behind him, obviously free of charge. Knowledge gained is worth more than money
