Hi,first off this does not relate to work I intend to DIY. I'm trying to sanity check information I've been asked to provide to the installers.
I want the solar invertert to connect in the garage, where there's a DB fed from the house via SWA.

This is what's asked ..

As the proposed PV inverter is 5kW (21A) we would need to know what loads are regularly used in the garage to know if the 25mm2 cable has enough “room” left in it to carry an additional 21A.

I can provide information on the loads as requested, but then i started to think isn't this the wrong way round? Won't solar generation be subtracting from the load rather than adding to it? Or does it not work that way?
