3 core Swa feeding ip rated plastic sockets outdoors.
He 3rd core of the Swa has been used as a cpc but the armour is not connected to earth; but has been made off with metal banjos. Would this warrant a C2 or C3? I'm assuming as the armour isn't extraneous a C3? ?
Thoughts please ...

Well if that's true and I'm not doubting you, it's a new one on me, you sure it wasn't yellow but a bit faded? or maybe the light was bad and you need to visit Spec Savers, oh they weren't about, or are you extracting it as well ? lol

No I'm being serious, Tony had some great pictures of an old red white and blue open busbar installation which he posted up here when he was still a member.

The times I have come across it have been old imperial three-core insulated and sheathed cables (no earth)

I have only ever pulled out one piece of that, but was the same, 3 core red white blue in a lighting circuit.

That's the problem with electrics , everyone has there own opinion on things. There should be a rules book written in black and white so everyone sings from the same hym sheet in my opinion.

There is a book in black and white, it's bs7671.
It has some grey areas in it, but they are far outweighed by the number of people who apparently don't understand written English.

was bombarded recently...on what was supposed to be a pleasant afternoon out

and jesus wept did he spout some guff over this

he seemed to think that the armourings were there to prevent the cable from being breached....lol

its an EARTH SCREEN you emptyhead ...i thought

and as such needs referencing to earth.....neglect of this is a 2...

White used to be a phase colour in U.K. Then changed to yellow. In Aus they swapped around and used to have yellow then changed to white.

Green is a phase colour for Chinese wiring. Red L1 Yellow L2 Green L3. I found this out when we had to rewire the panel housing from a Chinese compressor.

The yanks have black as live and White as a Neutral. With strappers coloured Blue and Red.

They use a cable over here called a Twin Active which has a red and a white core. Basically you use it for 3 plate wiring with that particular cable coming from the ceiling rose to the switch. The red core would be permanent feed and white switch line. Saves using sleaving or Lack off.
