Existing double gang socket in the corner of a kitchen on a dedicated 12m length above ceiling 2.5 final circuit to CU, was used for a WM and a tumble dryer protected by a 32amp MCB.

I wish to keep this arrangement but on lifting floor boards above ceiling I noted entire run of cable/s was not in good shape with dings in the cable sheathing so will want to replace.

As mentioned existing is a double gang, surface mounted socket, can this socket arrangement remain or should it be two single sockets?

If double socket can remain should the circuit be a 2.5 ring or should I increase to 6mm T&E radial?

Socket/s, dedicated circuit will only be used for WM and separate TD but more often both WM and TD will be in use at the same time.

And 4mm cable.

Put it on a 32A breaker. (Rcd protected, of course)

There is a chance it would overload at 16A, if both machines hit a heating cycle at the same time

It's is a GE CU, fully populated, split load with EB61 B series mcbs, it is an old board although in good condition, I can't find an RCD to fit, not even sure if GE made one for this board.

If I run a radial 4mm T&E cable to 2 x RCD single sockets with 32amp mcb at CU end, would this be safe and ok?

I have now taken a good look at the CU, it is split load, 100amp main switch and a 80amp, 30Ma RCCD fitted.

As I will be replacing the existing 2.5 final with a 4mm radial to two seperate single gang sockets on an existing 32amp MCB, is there still a requirement and/or necessity for me to source and swap to a RCD as there is a RCCD fited?
