If you have a copy of BS7671 regs your answer is on pages 46 to 50 if not waht system do you have ie TT TNCS TNS and do you have fuses or RCD/MCBs

Normally 0.4 seconds for domestic circuits and 5 seconds for distribution if I remember correctly

As above, but the 5s disconnection time depends on the installation method of the distribution circuit.

Also, TT systems disconnection times are lower.
 
and because of that, osg says generally to achieve the disconnection times, EVERY circuit must be protected by an RCD, in one form or another...on a TT system
