I also see the cables have just been chopped off at the neutral bar instead of unbolting the lug, how lazy.

Saw the same thing today on some isolators where the load had been removed.

What's the minimum bending radius for 4H4 MICC again?

Another view, the other end of these cables is very nicely installed and I can only assume this end was once. It hurts seeing stuff like this. There is no excuse, especially as these are all metric cables with new pots and glands readily available. Even if they were old imperial cable there is no excuse. Out of view some of the other cables are too long so loops have been buckled into them to 'shorten' the cables. Pathetic.

Any MI installation that use plastic cable ties is likely to be a rough job in more ways than one
And that installation is dog rough

It's particularly painful when chances to play with MICC are rather low for most of us, and the chance to do a neat re-pot and gland job would have had me salivating over my joy-stripper. (thought I'd better add a hyphen there)

To add insult to injury the tie tails have all been roughly cut off leaving sharp edges everywhere.

I rather fancy the chance to do a bit of pyro - not done it since we had a very short lesson when I was an apprentice <cough> decades ago. Of course, have no tools and it wouldn't be worth getting them for any amount I might find an excuse to use it for - I'm sure I could find an excuse to do some at church. SWMBO tells me off when I'm at a different church and I'm admiring some neat pyro instead of following the sermon (or whatever)

The problem with Pyro cable is it is now so expensive it is now mostly reserved for special applications. Then you add glands, seal kits, special back boxes, special lugs etc. A shame as I used to really enjoy working with it.
I do have a few full reels home here for my own uses though.

I've suddenly turned all Yorkshireman ... HOW MUCH !
Yes, at that sort of price it's going to be a niche application.

What's going on with that white cable ? Is it an extra long nipple end to a gland with some plastic bits on as spacers, or something else ?

Hole in the trunking too big for the gland so the black bit is the shroud

How it ended up like that is anyone's guess. An Aircon fitter is what's going on. Maybe they should stick with stuffing glands?

Hey at least he didn't use sy...

Supply cable is connected to load terminals so fuse is still live when the isolator is in the off position. I didn't remove the terminal shield, it was left of top when I got there.

Never seen this label configuration before or the 5A plug and socket
