Looked at a job which is to replace eyeball downlights in a bathroom to IP65 fixed downlights. However the holes for the existing lights is 95mm and can't seem to find any IP fittings that will cover the hole completly.

Is there anything that can be bought that fits to the fitting to cover the hole once the fitting is pushed into the ceiling?

you can get adaptor kits but not sure if they make IP65. alternative is to make patch discs for the old holes, secure with a bit of lath above and fill edges, and drill new holes to suit new fittings.

had this prob before.........................no solutions out their bud, u will have to reboard ceiling if they want spots in same place!.......................as previously posted, the conversions will be no good for bathrooms, i looked absolutely everywhere too, including calling manufacturers.

fiar play dazza........................where wer u about 5 months ago!!!!!!!!!......lol...................i looked absolutely everywhere too.......................apart from here!

Yes, nice one, the OP asks for IP65 but I wonder if that's erring on the side of caution!

Could actually use IP44 TBH, just inside zone 1 as the ceiling has at some point been lowered. Just alway fit IP65 in 99% of the jobs, but like IQ says, just erring on the side of caution i think.

Dont it make you sick when you've ****** about trying to get something to fit and then you see a post with just the solution you been looking for ............bummer, but thanks all the same

no offence!! but they look like turd!! lol... patch the holes up get a skim coat over where you patched and redrill...!! cost you about £20

They do look turd you're right! Told customer how much and they are now ripping down the ceiling and redoing so saves me having to faff around buying them online now anyway.

Result!

thats what i will always go for, get a plasterer in and save urself the hassle!
jobs a good un then fella!

Why not just cut a bit of plasterboard in a 95mm circle, pop two bits of batten in the existing hole so they are just visible on two sides of it and secure them with a few drywall screws, then put your new circle into the hole and screw through it into the battens. Voila, now just skim a tiny bit of plaster or even polyfilla over it and when dry, re-drill your holes. OK they'll have to paint it again but it's better than having a whole new ceiling, surely?

All done now nice new IP44 fitting in the middle of the ceiling. Rest of the ceiling is shocking now, but not my problem. Gave them a number of a plasterer in case they want to tidy it up.

Best thing was, the numptys had boxed in the CU with MDF and wall papered. Should of took a picture

I do the same ! cut a strip of plasterboard the same width as hole but 20mm longer then put plasterboard screw in centre then load into hole then pull on screw while putting in a screw through ceiling into plasterboard strip that pulls the strip down tightly to ceiling then skim the shallow hole ! with holes patched in reposition new downlighters.

Or after installing the plasterboard strip theres on reason why you couldnt then remove the center screw and cut a near enough plasterboard disc to screw into the shallow hole using the centre screw hole on the strip then pollycell the tiny gap ! that would work !
