Guys, is it a requirement to install a dual rcd board?

I have been to look at a 1 bed property which the new owner wants the CU upgrading. It only has 4 circuits in the property as its just a small flat.
Is an rcd main switch type board the call of the day in this case?

if it's only 4 circuits, i would be tempted to use RCBOs. 6 way board with main switch, 4 RCBOs and 2 spare ways.

Depends on a few things mate, are these 4 circuits adequate for what is in service? I'd be willing to bet that when the 4 way CU was installed there was a lot less going on in the place than there is now. What's the earthing arrangement? Would the owner not prefer a main switch CU with RCBOs?
Etc etc, without seeing the place or a bit more info it's difficult to advise properly

depends what the customer will pay if he thinks rcbos are to dear just a small 6 way board with one rcd would do as long as you explain the flat will go in to darkness if it trips

RCBOs, don't bother with an RCD board for 4 circuits ( ring? / lighting? / cooker? / shower ?????) one fault and the whole lot'll be off. RCBOs are far better and you'll have individual circuit protection.

4 RCBOs will cost you about £60. knock off £20 ( RCD ) and £10 ( MCBs ) , only cost £30 more .

I would fit RCBOs then no problem with more than the one circuit lost you could give customer price for the RCD board as well and explain how much better the RCBO board would be.

Unless the installation is Agricultural/Horticultural, the Regulations only require RCD protection for circuits of a location containing a bath or shower.
As such, the number of RCDs required will depend on the number of circuits such a location contains.
