Where am I going wrong, over the last 9 months at one customers premises I have installed 3 x seperate pir/hallogen fittings, all from the same circuit, nothing else on it. But every couple of months I get a call to replace one of the fittings as the PIR latches on for that fitting. Now approaching this week, the third fitting on one outlet to exchange in just over a month. Am I getting cheap fittings? (from a local national distributor) or is this soddin house jinxed? Kaz

Kaz,
Been through the same thing myself,no one makes good quailty fittings in this range, unless you want to spend alot of money.Which of course the customer wont when they can see them dirt cheap at B+Q.I can only suggest getting a good quailty stand alone PIR and put it below the fitting.
Sorry I could not be of more help.

hi kas

just out of daftness the supply to the house hasnt been interupted for a second or two or the lighting circuit switched on and off quickly as some pir come with built in overides. To get the fitting to stay on you simply switch the supply off then back on,its now in the overide position to get it back onto the sensor switch it off for a minute then back on it will now opperate of the pir

hope this helps

I replaced my combined unit with a seperate PIR, the lamp has since lasted ages. the only problem now is that now the lamp has gone, the fitting has rusted up and cannot get into it. So gonna have to buy a new fitting! :(

Hi Cosine,

There are 3 x integrated PIR / lamps on one breaker, the breaker being the only source of isolation. I have replace all 3 fittings in the last year, two twice, and now this last one will be on its 3rd replacement. (wholsaler is letting me have a better quality albeit more expensive fitting foc to see if that does the trick - after this it will be seperate PIR and fittings in future), I have on the other occaisions to switch the circuit off, wait and then liven it up again but the lamps still latch on.
