Hi guys need some advise please carrying out a eicr in a commercial propety which has two buildings next to each other but not joined each have own pme supply coming in so treating each separately. One of the buildings has two meters 1 for basement area with communal areas and 6flats the top office ect. basement is run from 3phase &n sw iso with 35mm 4core using only swa as the earth. the office from single phase sw iso in 25mm 4 core swa as the earth. on the 3phase isolator there' a 25mm earth coming from ryfield board, the main earth from pmes n , single phase isolator earth are all connected in the ryfield board. Now theres two earths 25mm and 16mm at the 3phase sw iso. i can not locate the main water and gas bond. im not sure if both buildings are sharing the same water supply on the 1st building I have located both. The 2nd building I can see the external gas supply no earth. once it enters the building can not locate location. I can not down power to disconnect earth to test continuity but have carried out an R2 while connected with readings of 0.02 im aware of parallel paths so what can I do in this situation please c3 and note or further investigation?

You will have to agree limitations such as no disconnection with the person ordering the work with reasons as to why.

Labels on the db all misleading lol no record of pirs or eic at all thinking to further investigate if they accept with all other remidals that' came up

Before you start you need to agree to identify all circuits and survey the place and label it. Sounds like it could take up to a week. I would not start an EICR of that magnitude without first surveying and knowing what the hell I am dealing with. And having a schemata of the circuits.

Well they of all people should know there is a legal requirement to work safely. EAWR and all that stuff?

Separate sources of supply require separate bonding conductors. Have you actually started testing the circuits.

Was just reading gn3 about eicr and it' saying in my situation where you can not disconnect supply to use wander lead to test continuity while connected page 84 3.10.3. Doesn' seem to mention about parallel paths tho

Sorry when it refers you back to 2.6.5 does mention about parallel paths. if I'm not understanding it wrong if you can' not isolate supply to disconnect them you can still carry out an R2 looking for readings below 0.05

forget that 0.05 crap. that is the figure you should get between the end of a bonding conductor and the pipe it's clamped to. basically the resistance of the bonding clamp.

Westward10 for got to tell u regarding my post bout the earth bein nicked if u remmber? Got dno out met him on site confirmed its been nicked said he will get joiners out to sort it went back two weeks later guess what still not bein rectified
