Hi Guys, I’m going down the experienced worker route in electrical installations and wanted some advice regarding a cscs card. I’ve spoke to the JIB and they have confirmed I can get an approved maintenance electrician hold card with the qualification’s I hold. Does it matter what card I hold to be able to complete the qualification on site?

You only need a cscs card to get onto site. What the company will pay you to do is another matter. Your jib card will allow access to sites but if the builder or agency will pay you an approved rate is up to them.

You will definitely be able to work as a mate to get experience to complete the nvq work. I worked for years with just a cscs card and only word of mouth and trust to get onto sites.
