Hello all, I am currently planning a job for q ne kitchen extension. Just want some guidance on the best practice for wiring an American style fridge freezer. In the past I have had a dedicated circuit for a f/f non RCD protected. With the 17th edition requirements is this no longer the best practice as this circuit will now need RCD protection due to the installation method and current regs. If that is the case then I will make the f/f part of the lithe. Ring. Any thoughts would be most appreciated

my way would be either to wire surface, or on it's own RCBO.

I have to admit Tel I didn't like the flexishield cable in the past it wasn't recommended for high current usage and it had a very low fault rating, but Spin highlighted it again, the tech data on their website is looking good and for this dedicated socket circuit for a fridge or even fire alarms it might be worth considering now.

can't comment on flexishield, never used it. could always fix the cable drop in 20mm steel, buried and bonded.
