Alright fella's

At the moment i work for HMRC and am about to start my 3rd and final year doing the 2391 course. Hopefully after that register to a competent scheme and start getting some work and build up my experience.

My teacher said last year i should do the HNC course in electrical, would this be beneficial to get into the industry? No point having good qualifications and little experience...and still land a little paid job. Ideally i dont wanna leave here until i get offered a decent job..

If you're going self-employed you'll probably be looking at domestic only (you don't mention having any experience), so the HNC is useless. If you're looking to work for someone else, again you're not going to be offered £15/hour with no experience. HNC is mainly for maintenance and/or design engineers.

I don't want to sound harsh, but if you're not leaving HMRC until you get offered a decent job, you're not leaving HMRC. Be willing to start at the bottom on minimum wage. In this industry wages are based on experience, not vice-versa.

No he's talking ******,HNC will help Jack all as an Electrician.
It's a completely different course and a lot is Electronics
Helpfull maybe if you want to go into pcb design.
Stick with your 2330 L3,17th and 2391,but like as Spa Key says pieces of paper ain't worth much without any experience.

Depends upon which part of the industry you are working in, if you work in industrial maintenance then a HNC may be required not much call for it in contracting.

Don't know if it is still the same but it was that the first year was done by everyone but the second you split into whether you wanted to do electronics or power.
