Discuss How do you charge for remedial works after EICR failed? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Usually an hourly rate (if the remedials are very straightforward then perhaps an estimate instead).

Anything that needs investigation is always an hourly rate, for as long as it takes.

Today I was investigating a socket circuit with low IR, there are at least 3 separate issues (so far), including a damaged SWA cable connecting a summer house, and T&E encased in mortar on top of a garden wall with a suspected encased junction. I'd never give fixed prices for this sort of work.

I tend to work hourly , I find this the fairest way and means the job has a cut off point if you simply can't get to the bottom of the issues

I know some people who will literally 'price' everything , but I don't see how you can price say fixing a broken a ring. Unless you just blurt out say £250 to find and rectify fault....
