Hi

Just to make sure I have this covered, how much space do the DNO & provider normally require for the fuse unit and meter? And what is the preferred height?

Have you already agreed the meter position with the DNO? Most DNO's require the meter position to be external. Some exceptions though, but best to sort out position with them first.

The house is not built yet but I have had a quote for install from the DNO and they are fine for it being installed internally as the new build is being very much controlled by the Conservation Officer as it is between 2 listed buildings and he would not allow me to install a white box on the external wall. The install is a 100A single phase.

Ask the DNO, they all have their own requirements so without even knowing which DNO it is we can't help very much.

Last few new supplies we did they sent us drawings, past three have all been internal. It's good to have drawings as the installation teams have mood swings and having it taped to the wall keeps them quiet.

Usually, when installed internally, the DNO require the meter position installed on the inside of an external wall. If going internal U/G (with their approval) a short distance a black rigid pvc duct will be required. As said above get it in writing.
