I was under the impression it would need to be these ratings as it's situated above the taps in the bath zone (Zone 1) which has a shower head permanently connected to it?

While your there can you find me a ip65 elv electric shower?

Why do people insist on transformerd ip65 fans but then happily stick a ip44 9Kw shower just above bath?
 
why not use an in line fan, 240v fan in attic, with 12v halogen lamp in ceiling bezel. £50 ish from b&q.

Forgot to ask... DO you mean "just" above the taps, or near the ceiling above the taps? It makes a difference as to what kind of "spray" can be expected.
