Good evening

We have recently replaced a class 1 light. The cpc was provided via aa separate cable. I have found this evening that the separate cpc cable has been spliced into the main equipotential bonding cable (10mm2).

Doesnt this mean that the lights are now connected directly to the supply earth rather than through the consumer unit. Would our mcb trip if there was a fault with this set up?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

MCB will trip on overload or short circuit. irrespective of where the cpc is connected.
