Hi Guys, I served an apprenticeship with MANWEB (Merseysdie and North Wales Electricity Board),between 1978 and 1982, got my papers (indentures) and after a short time left the industry.
I am now returning to the industry and a lot has changed with regard to regulation and training etc.
I have got my 17th edn regs and insp and testing up to date, but to get an ECS card, it appears I need to have my indentures to prove my training which is understandable, I believe the first Mrs LIPPY may have burnt the papers ......... spiteful cow !!!!!----- another story tho,
I have been able to get all my C&G certificates reissued, but as manweb was bought out by Scottish power in the 1990s I don't know where to look for copies of my indentures. Thus far I have done the following.
Contacted MANWEB pensions........ they confirm that I was employed by the company, but that's as much as they can say as I cashed in my pension contributions in 1984
Contacted Scottish Power.............They don't keep records that far back.
I have gone to the ECS who agree to check their archives as their computer system doesn't have any record and this will cost me £60.00. I don't have a problem with that, however, if they cant find me in their records where do I go from here ???????
My understanding is that I will have to do and NVQ over 2 years ??????? I don't think so !!!!!!!!
Any advice appeciated
Cheers fellas LIppy.
