Hello, ive just been to look at a job with a light not working, after checking found voltage between live and neutral is 170v, between live and earth is 230v, is it just a case of a neutral issue, eg, loose connection, water ingress any suggestions would be great, cheers

agree with both above posts ^^^^^^.looose, lost, corroded, worn out, tired, knackered, over the hill, neutral.

Now Mark, forgive me if I am being a bit obtuse, but your profile says you have done an inspecting and testing course? This sounds like just the sort of thing you should be relishing, not asking for help on here surely? After all, I presume this customer of yours is paying for your services? And you do have a HND?
