had phoned eon and they said they can take upto 2 weeks to come out just to pull the fuse and another week or so to put it back!!

I'm suprised you actually got through to someone there that knows what your talking about. That is your asnwer in that sentance.

I know with some companies such as Npower, if the customer rings the supplier & asks for a DP isolator to be fitted then EON will come out (about a week in my experience) and fit it for free.
