Meggers standing?

guys, with the down turn, lack of work etc then selling equipment.

How long would you say it would take for a megger tester to become impaired if standing idol?

Would you advise buying one that has stood around with charge?

IMO with the batteries out and stored in a dry warm enviroment a meter should be OK for months if not years.
