Hi,

We are in the middle of building our kitchen extension, we have decided to have an exposed internal brick wall constructed as we have some excellent brick spare.

The external block wall is up and before we put up the internal brick wall we were going to install the cables for: fridge/freezer, dishwasher, 3 double sockets and an oven feed. This will stop the need to surface mount onto the brick.

I was planning to run the T&E in individual 25mm pvc or flexible conduit attached to the external wall. Then bring them through the new brick wall where needed still in the conduit.

The cavity will be insulated which I know is another issue with heat so we made need to use larger conductors than usual.

We have engaged a registered electrician who will be doing a site visit but I thought I would like to get some other opinions or alternative ways of doing this.

Thanks,
Phil

Was an exposed wall in the original design and taken into account when heat loss calcs were done?
You may find that Building Control will want the wall Dry lined and with insulation.
