Hi guys, means you dont need to register with a part p scheme to carry out PIR's, could this be used as an alternative to part p? As you could carry out work (notifable) and then pir on the property, confirming its safe?

Hi
The BGB requires EIC, but do local building control follow up? A mate is having a big extension built his builder is using a semi retiered sparkie to do the work who is not part P! The builder asked my mate to ask me to sign it off of cause I refused, the builder told my mate dont worry he will get someone and till will cost him £100!!

Yeh i have seen that, people signing off work for people they dont even know. Bit of a cash earner until something goes wrong and the guy who signed it is fully responsible. Not worth the risk, i have my part p inspection in 2 weeks and have already been asked if i would sign off for other sparks...NO
