I take it the plug/ socket set up is IP rated and not just a domestic 13A in a poly bag and taped up??
If a light comes with flex attached… I wouldn’t reflex it with a longer lead… I’d extend with another plug/socket… but a proper IP rated one like the blue 16A round pin.
Even if you have a plug at top AND bottom of pole…. It would be simple enough to replace fittings.
I’ve seen so many of the newer type flat LED floodlights from various manufacturers just filling up with water. They’re just not made like they should be.
