Size of shower cable

Hey what kilowatt showers can be feed off 6mm cable and which need 10mm? I guess the distance from the fuse board also needs taking in to account?

beat me to it. using 230V will give a worse ( higher) value for current than using the actual ( 235 -240V ) so errs on the side of caution.

not wrong, IMO. yes, i know that the lower the voltage means a lower kWage. what i meant was if you calculate from the quoted kW @ 230v you will get a higher value for A than if you'd used 240V. as in I=P/V

Maybe showers should be rated in ohms. That'd confuse the DIYer; the lower the number, the hotter the water.
