Hi,
I currently work in an office based role in the IT industry (4 years experience) and would like to make a career change.
I have previously trained as an electrician around 5 years ago and enjoyed the practical side of the work but due to the job market being a bit dry, IT was the path I took.
I'd like to make use of my IT knowledge and combine it with my electrical background.
I've found that 'Structured Cabling Engineer' type jobs seem to be the answer, but unfortunately I'm not too sure if the industry is profitable or easy to get into with the UK.
I'm willing to train myself up with City and Guilds courses.
Could anyone with experience in this area of work please post some advice of which courses would be best to take, as I really would like to move from computer screen based work to a more practical, skilled environment.
Thanks.
