could you tell me if this is correct. I have been asked to carry out a electrical survey PIR and saw on a thread that you do not have to be registered to do this is this correct i have 236 and part p nic

Have 236part 1and 2 so I would say I know what I'm doing how much do you normally charge for one of these

It is not as straight forward as you think,

One way of proving competence is qualifications and for performing PIR's the C&G2391.

If your PIR's were ever in question, this would help your case, along with your professional indemnity insurance.

You don't have to do the 2391 but it helps, it's down to you to access whether you are competent enough to carry out a PIR. Personally i do not have the 2391 qualification and I probably carry out about 7-8 domestic PIR's a week. Its down to you at the end of the day but i would advise doing your 2391, hopefully i'll get mine done over the next few months.
 
yes peter 2391 is way foward but dont think it is easy you do a practical exam and a closed book theory exam with detailed reasons for various scenarios but i feel if you can crack that you would have gathered some experiance by then.ps it was 3 or 4 years since i done it so it might have changed.but good luck
