Took this photo from a Facebook group where someone was asking advice about the CT.

Regarding using the meter box in the first place and making holes in the side of the meter box.

Not ideal. Seen worse though
No doubt. We all have.

It’s an EV charge point manufacturers Facebook group for customers and installers. The question was about CT clamp positioning with PV.
That’s the photo the user supplied.

There’s always lots of comments on this forum about meter boxes, and what’s permissible…

Fixing the cable to the bottom Part of the housing legit? Could get knocked off and with the cable attached pull out a heafty cable!

Surely that bit isn't acceptable?

None of it really is acceptable, Dan. But you’re right, the box will be fibreglass or plastic at best…. The screw won’t be holding anything.

It’s an older thread now… so I don’t know what became of it all.

These boxes tend to only allow holes on the bottom side, where there’s a marking. Maybe fixing holes for screwing into brick…. But I believe they are supposed to be held in with mortar when building the wall.

I quite like the quoted text being a bit smaller.

Don't mind me if a resurrect some threads I'm testing stuff.

But that looked dodgy as hell even to me.
