And depends of the manufacturer has approved/tested for such application. I'm thinking interaction with those small beads used on cavity wall insulationyes and no , yes you can fish a cable through a cavity wall to avoid chasing it out but no in the respect it remains unsupported.
Low brick wall so no clips. 100mm cavity. Can you meet the manufacturers requirements for support i.e clips?
Cable to just layLow brick wall so no clips. 100mm cavity.
Dwarf wall yes. Extends from the house with brick on edge as capping. By the way, thanks for responding to my question?sounds to me like a dwarf wall in a conservatory. very common to see cable run in cavity, esp.when the inner wall is not to be plastered.
No to 1and 2. Wall 5 brick high 10’ long already built. I want a light at the end and have laid twin and earth in the bottom. Just checking it’s ok? No water, light or insulation.2 points.
1.is there insulation in the cavity? if so, cable laid on top is supported, but could be derated, current wise if insulation on top.
2. might be cavity ties to cable tie on. another form of support.
What should I have used? SWA not needed as protected by wall.might not be 100% to regs, but be OK.
I'd have gone for a HO5RN-F.What should I have used? SWA not needed as protected by wall.
FAB. Appreciate it.I'd have gone for a HO5RN-F.
A rubberised flex which will cope well with any dampness in the cavity.
I run t&e in cavity when possible but always use flexible conduit as an extra protection. Can twin and earth be used in an external twin brick cavity wall? In no way open to the elements.
