Mate this is a UK based forum, therefore you won’t get much response regarding US code.I have a customer that has no equipment grounds. The code enforcement will not let you pull a single ground. Any tips on resolving this issue

The answer is install GFCI breakers On all the single pole breakers. I just wanted to see if someone would thought of that. Sad

thats what I thought until I spoke to the inspector and GFCI BREAKERS was his reply. I’m in America and this site is UK so I’m positive there are huge differences in what we do compared to UKIf the receptacles are not grounded and your Codes do not allow a separate ground around them then surely the only option is to rewire.
I'd reckon Dan is trying to push this beyond a uk forum. The .net change from .co.uk, and the little location flags...change is in the air.Mate this is a UK based forum, therefore you won’t get much response regarding US code.
DPG you have 2 choices 1-GFCI receptacles or 2- GFCI breakers on all single pole breakers
I turned the down the job but followed up on it and I was told that they went with GFCI breakers and that satisfied the code enforcement.Your OP seemed to be saying that you could get away without a ground wire if you had GFI receptacles. Have I missed the point?

I was open about it when I did it lol. I said that's why I'm doing it in multiple threads and in my own and in notices.I'd reckon Dan is trying to push this beyond a uk forum. The .net change from .co.uk, and the little location flags...change is in the air.
