Discuss upgrading meter tails & main earth in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Hi everyone.
Quick question, I hope, as I can't find a definitive answer anywhere.
In order to do an alteration/addition to existing circuits on a PME system do the meter tails and main earth conductor need upgrading from 16mm and 10mm respectively?
Western Power engineers have told me 25mm tails are only required on new installations.
Also if they are not upgraded should it be noted on the eic as a departure from BS7671 or a comment on existing installation??

Thanks in advance.

If they are existing and the fuse rating is 60 amps and the maximum loading is less than the current carrying capacity of the 16mm then all should be ok ,although on a PME TNCS the main earth should be 16 mm if im not mistaken
