Volkswagen Golf Indicator Problems

Hi all

Don't no if anyone will have any ideas about this sitation but I will ask.

I've got a VW golf 2009 2.0 TDI and recently when I use the right indicator the left indicator comes on instead then switches back to the right, they both sometimes come on at the same time aswell, it also doesn't come on sometimes for around 5 seconds.
It's really annoying and also dangerous as when I'm driving people think I'm going the other way for a few seconds.

Although it might have an overtake and then flash left to pull in on cancel ( I forget the jargon) it is obvously not that.
More like the stalk is knackered . Is it floppy?

faulty relay, have you thought of using hand signals !

Stick is not floppy what so ever, yes i've had to use hand signals sometimes. I can get it to work sort of by just flicking the stick slightly which only gives you a few flashes if you get what I mean.

So a faulty relay most likely then. Wanted to no what it most likely could be before I take it to an auto spark

When you activate the hazard switch do the hazards work as they should?

You must check both of problems, the Controller Computer and the power Relay from the side what blinking on double like parking for a defect.

I mean Contacts from both power Relays, it's possible contacts are in permanently short-circuit or the Switch from your manual command can have problem what you can check with multimeter.
