I have 2 wires going thru outlet box outside and need to replace with a round 4". What are they for and can I cut them? The house previously had security wiring throughout. Thank you.

You're going to need to provide much more information before anyone will commit to anything resembling advice. Photographs are probably the best option showing the cables, where they enter/leave enclosures etc.

Got it figured out. They were nails used to secure the box. Thank you.
